Things I miss about Chicago today:

- Driving past the Loop at night and seeing all the buildings lit up like Christmas trees.
- Harold's Chicken Shack (http://www.haroldschicken.com/).
- The eclectic-ness of Wicker Park and BuckTown.
- The familiarity of everything.
- Riding the El .
- The Chicago Reader
- Driving down Lake Shore Drive.
- The feeling that I am one of many.
- Sturdy brick buildings keeping me warm in the cold winter.
- Walking through snow in gym shoes.
- Feeling connected to everyone in the city during a harsh winter, because we're all going through it.
- Halsted Street, Belmont Ave and Clark St.
- Seeing all the parks filled during spring and summer with softball teams.
- Softball, and sports leagues in general.
- 24 hour a day El service.
- Brew & View at the Vic , double features for $5 on weekends.
- the White Sox, Bears, Bulls and the Cubbies.
- Jeffrey Blvd.
- The 14 Express and the 6.
- Walking through the River North and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.
- Hyde Park.
- Straightforward, in your face racism, instead of the undercover, smile-in-your-face-no-i'm-really-not shit.

The City of Big Shoulders certainly left it's mark on me!
